Developing support networks and self-confidence with inclusive LGBT+ group Proud2Be CIC.

Proud2Be CIC are celebrating receiving a grant of £31,080 from People’s Health Trust, using money raised by The Health Lottery in the South West.

This two-year project will be a continuation of an existing programme of activities for 504 LGBT+ individuals living in the Torbay, Teignbridge and South Hams areas of Devon. The project aims to bring the LGBT+ community together and enable members to develop better support networks, which in turn will increase self-confidence.

Participants will lead the development of the project through regular feedback as well as the potential to join the Proud2Be Action Group who meet monthly to plan all groups and events.

Chris Lunn, the spokesperson for Health Lottery South West, said: “We are delighted that money raised through The Health Lottery in the South West is supporting such important local projects.” Already, over £9.4 million has been raised for Health Lottery South West, which helps to make a difference for these good causes groups.

Between 1 November and 30 November 2018, Health Lottery South West will benefit from Health Lottery tickets sold for all draws. You can buy Health Lottery tickets in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk or from more than 32,000 local retailers nationwide including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
